Nobody sat me down and explained perimenopause to me. I pieced it together myself, over months, from a scattered collection of symptoms that didn't seem to belong to the same story: the sleep, the mood swings that came out of nowhere, the periods that went from clockwork to chaos. I kept waiting for someone to hand me a map. Eventually I realised I'd have to draw it myself, so that's what I want to hand you here, the map I wish someone had given me.
Perimenopause isn't oestrogen and progesterone gently switching off in a straight line. It's messier than that. For years before your periods actually stop, these hormones fluctuate unevenly, sometimes higher than usual, sometimes lower, often within the same month.
And because oestrogen and progesterone don't just govern your cycle, they also interact with your sleep, your mood regulation, your temperature control and your energy levels, that fluctuation ripples outward into all of those areas at once. That's why the symptoms can feel so scattered and unrelated. They're not. They're all downstream of the same shift.
You don't need to understand every mechanism perfectly to feel steadier. A good first step is simply tracking what you notice, sleep, mood, energy, cycle changes, for a few weeks, so you can see your own pattern rather than guessing at it. That's exactly the starting point we build from in The Hormone Reset Code.

The Hormone Reset Code - the complete picture across sleep, stress, food, movement and metabolism after 40. $35.
